Suzhou SIP Foreign Teacher Program

SIP Foreign Teacher Program is a government project sponsored by Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) Education Bureau. Currently Suzhou Industrial Park has 11 primary schools, 5 junior high schools, 13 nine-year scheme(from Grade 1 to Grade 9) schools, 3 pure high schools, 1 secondary vocational school, 1 higher vocational and technical college, and 4 community education centers. There are 2,828 faculty members and 33,202 students. In 2004, the park passed the city-level assessment of the advanced area of education internationalization.

Salary & Benefits

Salary

Base Salary 11,000-14,000 RMB after tax plus benefits and allowance

Contract

10 months from Sept-Jun or at least 6 months during school year

Housing Allowance

2,000 RMB per month or shared 2 bedroom apartment

Working Hours

Mon to Fri, 8:30am to 4pm. Less than 16 teaching hours, and no office hours.

Food

Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided at school cafeteria

42 foreign teachers in 15 different schools with student between 10-15 years old

Requirements

Native English speaker

Bachelor degree or above

<55 years old

With TEFL, TESOL or TESL certificate

At least 2 years of teaching experience
